The Department Banking Division is recruiting for the following position: 

Title: Regulatory and Consumer Affairs Administrator

The Department seeks a Regulatory & Consumer Affairs Administrator to join the DFR Banking Licensing Team. The Regulatory and Consumer Affairs Administrator reviews and coordinates the technical and administrative functions of the Banking Division licensing program. Analyzes sophisticated financial, legal, and other technical documents submitted as application material for a license. Reviews license applications for lender, mortgage broker, sales finance company, money transmitter and debt adjuster to engage in business in Vermont, determines their eligibility for a license, and recommends appropriate action, such as issuance of a license, denial, revocation, or suspension. 

The DFR Captive Insurance Division seeks candidates for the following two positions:

Title: Insurance Examiner II

The Captive Insurance Division of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation seeks an Insurance Examiner II to join its globally recognized team. As Insurance Examiner II, your primary responsibilities include examinations and ongoing oversight of Vermont domiciled captive insurance companies. Utilizing a risk-focused approach,the Examiner evaluates areas of captive insurance company operations and business practices, including corporate governance, strategy, business plan, IT systems, internal controls, financial reporting and regulatory compliance to ensure that the captive insurance company is able to meet it's obligations to insureds and is compliant with Vermont regulations. An Examiner also conducts research, participates on various task forces, is assigned special projects, and conducts annual and quarterly surveillance for a portfolio of companies. An Examiner must be self-motivated and possess strong time-management, organization, critical thinking and communication skills.

Title: Insurance Examiner III

The DFR Legal Division seeks an assistant general counsel.

Title: Assistant General Counsel

The Department Legal Division seeks to hire an Assistant General Counsel who will work within the Department's 10-member Legal Division to provide legal services to the Department. Assignments may include legal counsel and regulatory support to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and Department staff; drafting legislation, administrative rules and bulletins; representing the Department in administrative proceedings. Experience in insurance, banking, securities and administrative law is highly desirable. Litigation experience is desirable but not required. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are currently available.
